ISTANBUL TO HOST FORMULA 1 TURKISH GRAND PRIX THIS WEEKEND
ISTANBUL (A.A) - 27.05.2010 - Twelve teams and twenty-four drivers will compete in the Formula 1 (F1) Turkish Grand Prix this weekend.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he was very happy to host Formula 1 races in Istanbul.
"I believe that Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix will gain world's appreciation once again with the Istanbul Park Circuit and its perfect organization. This race is perfectly fit Istanbul, a city bridging civilizations and continents," he said.
First two practice phases of the race will take place on May 28. The third practice phase will be held on May 29 and it will be followed by the qualifying tour. And the race will begin at the Istanbul Park Circuit at 3 p.m. local time on May 30.
Below are the teams and drivers to compete in Istanbul this weekend:
Red Bull: Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber
Ferrari: Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso
McLaren: Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton
Mercedes GP: Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg
Renault: Robert Kubica, Vitaly Petrov
Force India: Adrian Sutil, Vitantonio Liuzzi
Williams: Rubens Barrichello, Nico Hulkenberg
Toro Rosso: Jaime Alguersuari, Jaime Alguersuari
BMW Sauber: Pedro de la Rosa, Kamui Kobayashi
Lotus: Heikki Kovalainen, Jarno Trulli
HRT: Karun Chandhok, Bruno Senna
Virgin: Lucas di Grassi, Timo Glock
