Health Minister opens radiation therapy section

SANA'A, May 29 (Saba) - Minister of
Public Health and Population Abdul-Karim Rase'a inaugurated on Saturday a radiation
therapy
section at the Tumors Treatment Center in the Republican Hospital in Sana'a.
Rase'a listened to an explanation by the Secretary General of the National
Commission for Atomic Energy, Mohamed al-Hada, on the work of the section and the
importance and
the role of the radiation therapy device, which is the first device in Yemen to
treat the cervix cancer.
The cost of the device amounts to USD 0.5 million, as an assistance from the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
On another hand, Rase'a discussed here with the representative of UNICEF in Yemen
relations of cooperation in the areas of health and means of boosting them,
especially
in the field of immunization and primary health care sector.
