PM meets IMF delegation
SANA'A, May 29 (Saba)-Prime Minister Ali Mujawar held a
meeting on Saturday with the delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)
over cooperation
between Yemen and the fund.
They also discussed the agenda of the country related to the financial and
administrative reforms and role of the international fund and donors to support
efforts of the
Yemeni government to boost economic and monetary stability of the nation.
The prime minister pointed out to the measures taken by the Yemeni government to
reduce negative impacts of the global financial crisis.
He also indicated to the plan of the government to reduce use of oil derivatives
such as use of gas to generate the electricity instead of oil.
He valued support of the fund for the development process and reforms agenda in the
country.
The head of the IMF delegation affirmed the continuing support of the fund for
efforts of the Yemeni government to overcome its all current economic challenges.
He said that the fund would present $ 350 million to serve the economic development
in Yemen, adding that the fund would encourage donors to present further support
for
the development and reforms in Yemen.
