YEMEN, FAO DISCUSS HELPING DISPLACED FAMILIES

SANA'A, May 30 (Saba) - Minister of Agricultural and Irrigation
Mansour al-Hawshabi met here on Sunday with mission of the Food and
Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

In the meeting, the two sides discussed possibility of the FAO's
support to Yemen's efforts in helping the displaced families in the
provinces of Saada, Amran and Hajjah and providing food for them.

They noted to the importance of the mission's visit to Yemen to
prepare a comprehensive report on the food situation in areas where
there are displaced people, with the aim of providing support by
donors, so as to contribute to enhance efforts to ensure food
security for the displaced families.

The FAO's mission suggested the need for creating an agricultural
inputs project in the field of plant and animal production, which
helps families to meet their needs.
