Yemen, Germany discuss historical manuscripts cooperation
SANA'A, May 29 (Saba)-
Minister of Culture Mohammed al-Maflahi held Saturday talks with the Manuscripts
Expert of
the German Embassy in Yemen on aspects of joint cooperation in the field of
indexing, preservation, maintenance and restoration of historical manuscripts.
During the meeting, al-Maflahi reviewed the Ministry's efforts in the field of
historical manuscripts, pointing out the documentation and indexing of historical
manuscript
drafts in the Manuscripts House in Sana'a which has completed more than 14,330
historical manuscripts so far.
He reviewed the challenges facing the historical and scientific manuscripts in the
historical city of Zabeed and other cities, affirming Yemen's keenness to develop
relations
of cooperation with the German side in various fields of culture, particularly in
the area of manuscripts.
For his part, the German official expressed readiness to cooperate in the field of
indexing, documenting and preserving the historical and scientific manuscripts to
ensure
conservation and take advantage of the value of scientific and intellectual inputs
they contain.
