Al-Alimi calls on Houthis to carry out rest of six ceasefire points
SAADA, May 31
(Saba)- Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs and Minister of Local
Administration
Rashad al-Alimi called on al-Houthi leadership to implement rest of six points to
settle peace and stability in the province.
In his speech to celebration on 20th anniversary of unification day organized in
Saada, al-Alimi said that the main task of the government and local authority in
the province
and district of Harf Sufyan is to return displaced people to their villages in order
to start process of rebuilding affected regions.
He also highlighted decision of president Saleh to release all detainees on charge
of rebellion in Saada, calling on Houthis to seize this humanitarian move and carry
out
the rest points.
Al-Alimi said that the law states safe ways of tackling disputes instead of
confrontations and wars.
In spite of situation in the province, the government has worked to respond to
needs of the province from development and service projects.On February 12th, a
ceasefire
deal was announced by Saleh following the acceptance of Abdul-Malik al-Houthi of the
government's six points.The ceasefire deal contains:- Al-Houthi commitment to
ceasefire,
eliminating landmines and leaving positions and hideouts.- Rebel withdrawal from all
districts of Saada and stopping interference in the local government's duties.-
Returning
looted military and public equipment and properties of Yemen and Saudi Arabia.-
Releasing Yemeni and Saudi captives.- Obeying the law and constitution.- Pledging
not to attack
Saudi lands.
