PRESIDENT RECEIVES CHINESE PREMIER
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received Wednesday Wen Jiabao, the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China (PRC).
Beginning the meeting, the President wished the Chinese Premier to enjoy a stay in Mongolia. He expressed then a satisfaction with meeting Mr. Wen here after their meeting in Beijing during a state visit to China in May this year. "I think that the visit of Mr. Wen Jiabao, paid for the first time after 16 years at the level of Prime Minister, is a distinct expression of the Chinese Premier's attaching a great importance to the Mongolia-China relations and cooperation. In frames of Your visit, a number of documents have been inked for the bilateral ties, and a business forum has been held. All this will significantly contribute to the further development of the cooperation," said Mr. Elbegdorj.
Mentioning that Mr. Elebegdorj had put forward some proposals on intensifying the relations and cooperation at their meeting in Beijing May this year, Mr Wen reported that China has studied these proposals concerning processing agricultural final products and exporting them to the third market, cooperating in infrastructure and energy, and constructing Russia-China gas pipe through Mongolia's territory. He added that China is ready to develop a cooperation with Mongolia in the oil sector.
The Mongolian President thanked Mr. Wen for paying an attention to the matters discussed in Beijing, and noted that these matters are the major spheres which might develop the economic cooperation between the two countries. As a landlocked country, Mongolia wants to cooperate with China in manufacturing final products and exporting them to foreign markets, he added.
The dignitaries also shared views on a cooperation in the uranium sector, on increasing a number of Mongolian students to study in China, expanding collaboration in the military, defense and customs sectors, intensifying regional cooperation through the Tumen River Project, and on international issues.
At the end of the meeting, the sides promised to work with great efforts to develop the bilateral relations and cooperation in all spheres.
