Workshop on elimination of discrimination against woman concluded
LAHJ, June 02 (Saba)- A workshop on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) was concluded Wednesday in Lahj province, south Yemen.
The two-day workshop was originated by the National Woman Committee (NWC) in
cooperation with UNICEF.
In the workshop, 60 participants of judges, lawyers and women associations
discussed the content of the convention and its commitments and mechanisms.
They also reviewed a summery of the 6th national report on the level of
implementation of the convention and the guidelines for data collection and
information to prepare
next report.
The workshop assigned the NWC's branch in the province to prepare a comprehensive
report on the woman's situations and their roles in the society aiming to carry out
the
National Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.
