MOBILE PHONE SERVICE PROVIDER LAUNCHES FIRST BLACKBERRY IN WHITE

KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 (Bernama) -- Maxis Bhd Wednesday announced online registration of interest for the first-ever BlackBerry in white at its www.maxis.com.my website.

Maxis Communications Berhad is a leading mobile phone service provider in
Malaysia.

Chief operating officer Jean-Pascal van Overbeke said the paler version of
the BlackBerry Bold 9700 was eagerly awaited by style-conscious customers
seeking performance with outstanding looks.

"Advanced devices are a crucial part of the integrated services platform
that Maxis is currently focused on tailoring to universal as well as individual
needs," he said in a statement Wednesday.

Van Overbeke said the new BlackBerry Bold 9700 offered an enhanced response
speed compared to the previous trackball.

Its improved 3.2 megapixel, auto-focus camera is able to deliver crisp,
clear picture quality, he said.

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 in white is available at RM2,459 (US$751) for Maxis
postpaid
customers.

"It incorporates 12 months of the BlackBerry Internet Service Plan for free
and this will address all your email, instant messaging, unlimited mobile
internet browsing and social networking needs," Van Overbeke said.

The product will be available first to customers from Maxis Centres and
Maxis partners nationwide this month.
