GPC-opposition national dialog to launch soon
SANA'A, June 03 (Saba) - The national
dialogue between the ruling party General People Congress (GPC) and the opposition
Joint
Meeting Parties (JMP) represented in the Parliament is to be kicked of on Saturday.
The weekly 26 September cited well-informed sources that the arrangements among the
political actors for holding the dialog are ongoing.
According to the sources, the opposition has told the GPC's vice-president
Abdul-Karim al-Iriyani, who is also the President's political advisor, that it will
take part
in the dialog in response to the President Ali Abdullah Saleh's call.
In his speech delivered on the 20th anniversary of the Unification Day, President
Saleh called upon all political parties and organizations and citizens inside and
outside
Yemen to carry out a responsible national dialog.
The President said that the dialog would be within the framework of the
constitutional institutions without preconditions or obstacles, affirming that the
basic foundation
should be the February agreement signed between the GPC and the JMP.
The dialog could come out with forming a government formed from all influential
political forces represented in the parliament, the president said.
