YEMEN CAPTURES 9 ETHIOPIAN INFILTRATORS

MARIB, June 03 (Saba)- Security authorities have captured 9 infiltrators of Ethiopia aged between 22 and 40 for illegally entering Yemen.

“The Ethiopian infiltrators have been captured in the eastern Yemeni province of Marib, while trying to cross the border into Saudi territory”, a security source said on Thursday.

“The Ethiopians are being investigated at the Immigration and Passport Department in the capital Sana'a”.

The source added that the security authorities had captured in May about 50 Ethiopian infiltrators in various regions of Marib.

Yemen is considered to be a gateway for Africans, including Ethiopians, to the Gulf states.

The escalating numbers of African infiltrators place increasing strain on Yemen's limited resources and pose more challenges to the government's efforts to balance its obligations under international law with the need to protect the country from illegal entry.
