YEMENIA NEW GUANGZHOU SERVICE TO BE LAUNCHED

SANA’A, June 03 (Saba)- Yemenia Airways, the national carrier of Yemen, is to launch next Monday its first flight from the capital Sana’a to the southern Chinese business hub of Guangzhou.

The state-run 26september weekly quoted a Yemenia official saying that the inauguration of the Sana'a - Guangzhou service will serve the industrial, scientific, economic and financial relations of Yemen and China.

“The Yemenia new route to China will serve the cooperation relations of the two countries, businessmen, Chinese companies working in Yemen, the Yemeni community and students living in Chinese cities”, the source explained.

Yemenia Airways has rescheduled its new 2 weekly Sana’a – Dubai – Guangzhou service, which is to begin from June 07.

Currently, Yemenia has only two east Asian routes, to Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. It has three B737-800, four A310s and two A330-200s in its long haul fleet, operating from its base in Sana’a and Aden to destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, as well as possible further expansions of the network in Africa in the future.

In July 1978 Yemenia Airways was formed with 51 per cent share by Yemen government and 49 per cent by Saudi Arabia government.

Its service covered around 23 international destinations within 3 continents – Asia, Africa and Europe.

Also it had become a member of IATA, AACO and ICAO.
