Except cricket, let us be partners in everything: Zuma

ZUMA-LD CRICKET

New Delhi, Jun 4 (PTI) Let us be partners in all spheres
but not in cricket. This is the message of South African
President Jacob Zuma to India.
Zuma, during an interaction with the captains of Indian
industry here, said the two countries were competitors in the
field of cricket, a sport which is passion in both nations.
"India and South Africa look at each other as partners
rather than competitors in all fields but one. Clearly, we are
competitors in cricket," he said at a function organised by
FICCI, CII and Assocham.
Earlier, Indian Commerce Minister Anand Sharma regretted
that India has not taken football as seriously as cricket and
hence could not participate in the FIFA World Cup in South
Africa later this month.
However, he said he was sure that several Indians were
already making a beeline to South Africa to watch the football
world cup that begins in Johannesburg on June 11. PTI SKU
