CAIRO'S CONFERENCE CALLS FOR TEACHING BAKATHIR'S BOOKS

CAIRO, June 05 (Saba) - The International Conference on the great
Yemeni writer Ali Ahmad BaKathir, was concluded here on Friday
evening.

The conference endorsed the establishment of a literary prize
bearing the name of Bakathir in the theater, literature, and novel,
and called the Arab Ministers of Education for teaching books of
Bakathir in the curriculum for students of different educational
stages.

In addition to, the conference approved a number of
recommendations, including urging the official cultural bodies in
the Arab and Islamic countries to hold similar conference on
Bakathir and his role in the cultural life in the Arab and Islamic
worlds.

It also urged the searchers and critics to pay attention to the
Bakathir's literature and encouraged in graduate students in the
Arab and Islamic universities to conduct researches and studies on
Bakathir.

Moreover, it called for a catalog for studies issued by Bakathir,
called on press institutions to prepare a special issue on him,
demanded production companies to produce films and embody the dramas
of this great writer on the Arab theaters, as well as distribution
of his short plays, issued by the League of Islamic Literature at
the Arab and Muslim world.

The conference was organized by the Arab Writers Union in
association with the Muslim Writers Society during May 31-June 03,
and attended by Yemeni Ministers of Culture and Information.
