Yemen, FAO discuss supporting agriculture in war-affected areas
AMRAN, June 05
(Saba) - Yemen and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) talked here on Saturday
about preparing
a program for supporting agricultural sector in the conflict-affected areas in Amran.
During their meeting, Amran local council General Secretary Saleh al-Makhlous and
FAO Representative in Yemen Fuad Aldomy affirmed the importance of carrying out a
survey
to assess the damages caused to the farmlands and livestock in the province.
They also discussed the FAO assistance in veterinary medicine for animals and
providing agricultural equipment for Harf Sufyan district as well as creating
income-generating
projects for poor families.
Al-Makhlous expressed the local authority's readiness to offer the required
cooperation for the FAO's workers and to succeed carrying its work in this regard.
