Regional conference for Youth Empowerment to be launched
SANA'A, June 06 (Saba)- A
Youth empowerment Project (YEP) funded by USAID is to launch on Monday a regional
conference
for Youth Empowerment in Sana'a with participation of six Arab countries from the
Middle East and North Africa.
In a press release, Save the Children said on Sunday that official representatives
from the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen,
non-government
agencies and international organizations will attend the opening.
"The three-day conference will include four main sessions to discuss some youth
issues relating to youth positive participation in their communities economically,
socially
and culturally. In addition to presenting some youth work papers and scientific
studies reflecting their experiences in youth empowerment in their countries", the
organization
said.
The conference will be launched by opening the partners' exhibition of Youth
Empowerment Project in addition to presenting a presentation of Save the Children
experience
in Youth empowerment through its project funded by USAID.
The Country Director of Save the Children in Yemen, Andrew Moore said that Save the
Children works in partnership with Ministry of Sport and Youth and USAID towards
youth
empowerment through creating opportunities for youth to participate positively in
determining their own future, the future of their communities.
"We support Youth in leadership skills through working directly with youth and
companies working with youth." Moore concluded.
The outcome of the conference is to find mechanism and regulations to support youth
participation and how to activate their role in the community. And it will be
concluded
with holding a press conference to discuss the final recommendations of the conference.
