INT'L SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE HELD

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ On occasion of the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea, an international scientific conference themed “Hundreds-year ties between Mongolia and Korea” was held Monday in the Academy of Sciences (AS) of Mongolia. It was co-organized by the AS and S.Korea's Northeast Asian History Foundation (NEAHF).
At the action reports were delivered by Dr. L.Khaisandai, a director of the Institute of International Studies (IIS) at the AS; Dr. D.Shurkhuu, a scholar-secretary of the AS; Dr. D.Tseveendorj, a director of the Archeological Institute; Lee Ig Ju, a professor of the University of Seoul and other scholars and researchers.
The main purposes of the conference are to deepen historical researches of region based on historical facts and to improve quality and effectiveness of research works.
After the conference was opened, a memorandum was inked by B.Enkhtuvshin, an academician and the AS's president, and by Jeong Je-Jong, the president of the Foundation of Northeast Asian Historical Sciences, to deepen the cooperation in historical sciences, culture, arts, politics and economics, to expand a joint promotion of scientific and research works and develop a partnership based on the cultural ties.
