Yemen to take part in 99th session of International Labour Conference

SANA'A, June 08 (Saba) - Yemen is to take part in the 99th Session of the International Labour Conference to be held in Geneva, Switzerland.

A Yemeni delegation led by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Amat =
al-Razaq Humad headed on Monday for three-week session that will focus =
one a number of topics topped
by the report of the Director General and the Management Council on the =
activities of the International Labor Office between the two rounds 98th =
and 99th, the work program,
budget and commitment to applying international labor standards.
Reports of the countries that ratified the standards on workforce and =
impacts of the global financial crisis on employment and laborers would =
be reviewed as well, Humad
said.
Moreover, the meeting will discuss the item on national response to the =
issue of AIDS in workplaces with the aim to reach a recommendation and =
approve it during the session
and the item on suitable work for house laborers to improve their living =
conditions as well as reviewing the declaration of basic rights and =
principles of labor that will
contain the outcomes of the international report on limiting child =
labor, she said.
On the margins of the session, the Arab Work Group will hold a meeting =
to coordinate Arab efforts toward the session decisions and following up =
the ILC decisions for 1974
and 1980 on condemning Israeli aggressive and racial acts, freedom and =
human rights violations and the effects of Israel settlement on the =
conditions of Arab laborers in
Palestine, she said.
Moreover, the GCC Labor Ministers Council will hold a coordinative =
meeting that will discuss the session agenda.
