Premier attends Journalism Day festival

SANA'A, June 09 (Saba) - Prime Minister Ali
Mujawar attended on Wednesday the festival in Sana'a on Yemeni Journalism Day and
marking
20 years since the unifying conference of the Yemeni Journalist Syndicate. He
delivered a speech in which he affirmed President Saleh's care of the day that stems
from the
importance of the noble national message of journalism to serve the society and
democracy. He praised efforts of the syndicate to organize the festival saying the
day is
very special to journalists that should lay the groundwork for better press step to
defend the national principles. It is interesting that Journalism Day coincides with
the
unity's birthday that carries great concepts within the role of word in serving
national issues, he said. Moreover, he underlined the big roles and devotions of
journalism
in various phases of Yemen's history including reinforcing nationalism and boosting
change and development. Mujawar touched upon President Saleh's pardon to journalists
granted
on the unity anniversary. The government relies much on the vital role of journalism
in enlightening the people to achievements under the unity and how to defend them,
he
said. The premier also urged to speeding submitting the new journalism law that
should cope with all changes and addressed the journalists: we will work to speed
implementing
the journalist cadre and support the syndicate to do its job perfectly. FR
