Rupee weakens by 2 paise against dollar in opening trade

Mumbai, June 9 (PTI) The Indian rupee on Wednesday
depreciated by 2 paise to 46.95 a dollar in the opening trade
on dollar demand from importers.
The rupee had closed 15 paise higher at 46.93/94 a dollar
in previous session.
Forex dealers said dollar's demand from importers put
some pressure on the rupee sentiment, but the losses were
capped by better opening in stock markets.
Meanwhile, the Bombay Stock Exchange index, Sensex,
recovered by 66.26 points, or 0.39 per cent, to 16,683.36 in
the opening trade. PTI
