AL-ARHABI MEETS GTI DELEGATION OVER EITI

SANA'A, June 09 (Saba)-Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs
Abdul Malik al-Arhabi held a meeting on Wednesday with delegation of
The Global Transparency Initiative (GTI).

In the meeting, they discussed issues over accomplishment of Yemen
for steps to access into the Extractive Industries Transparency
Initiative (EITI).Al-Arhabi briefed the delegation on efforts
exerted in preparing the national report of Extractive Industries
Transparency for years of 2005 and 2007.

He confirmed concern of the Yemeni government to go ahead with steps
to access into the EITI.

The head of the GTI delegation highlighted concern of the Yemeni
government to enhance principle of transparency in extractive
industries.
