GOVT TO TRAILBLAZE GREEN BUILDINGS, SAYS MSIAN MINISTER

PUTRAJAYA, June 10 (Bernama) -- A special committee will be formed to look into
the possibility of having all building structures in government projects to be
environment-friendly, said Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Peter
Chin Fah Kui.

He said the committee would be spearheded by his ministry with the
involvement of the Works Department, Natural Resource and Environmment and Local
Government and Housing ministries to look into the possibility of having school
structures, hospitals and government offices "green".

"The government must take the lead and be a role model for others in adopting
the "green concept" for building structures," he told reporters here Wednesday.
