Yemeni, Turkish officials welcome tourism cooperation protocol

Ankara, June 10
(Saba)- Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc has said the
Turkish-Yemeni
Joint Committee Meeting and the decisions taken today would contribute to the
welfare of the two countries.
Speaking at a signature ceremony for a protocol on cooperation between Turkey and
Yemen in tourism, Arinc said that the protocol was a result of two days of
successful talks.
Turkish semi-official news agency Anatolia quoted Arinc as saying that commercial
relations between Turkey and Yemen developed in a stable fashion in the recent
years.
"As part of the Joint Committee Meeting, we discussed diverse issues, including
investments and tourism", Arinc said.
"We have signed Tuesday an agreement for cooperation in the tourism sector", Arinc
added.
Speaking at the ceremony, Industry and Trade Minister Yahya al-Mutawakkil thanked
the delegations of the two countries for their efforts.
"We have formed the base of our economic and commercial relations as two states. We
hope that the two countries would establish a business council by the end of 2010.
This
council will be the engine of relations between Turkey and Yemen", al-Mutawakkil said.
The Yemeni official also voiced Yemen's aspiration for more bilateral cooperation
with Turkey, especially in the areas of investment, trade and industry.
For his part, the Turkish official affirmed his country's readiness to urge Turkish
investors to invest in Yemen and to offer professional training for Yemeni cadres
