D.OYUNKHOROL MP ATTENDS INT'L CONFERENCE ON WOMEN'S ISSUES
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A consisting of D.Oyukhorol MP, J.Tsolmon, a Vice-Minister of Health, and S.Banzragch, an advisor to the Parliamentary Speaker delegation participated in an international conference titled "Women's matters-2010" held June 7-9 in Washington, the USA.
The international conference brought together 3,500 representatives of parliaments, governments, NGOs, civil society and private sector from 146 countries. They discussed issues of ensuring the fourth and fifth tasks of the UN's Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)--policy and strategy on reduction of child and maternal mortalities and protection of mothers and infants' health, and of tackling investment and financing matters.
Women parliamentarians and health Ministers held special discussion on the above issues and issued a statement on governmental policy and activities.
