Int'l conference over Islamic architecture launched in Sana'a

SANA'A, June 12 (Saba)- Activities of the 2nd international conference over the Islamic Architecture and Arts started on Saturday in Sana'a organized by the Federation of the Universities of the
Islamic World (FUIW) with the participation of academics and researchers from the Islamic world.

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Saleh Ba-Surra spoke at the
beginning of the three-day conference, hosted by Sana'a University, over the
importance
of this conference as it deals with the Islamic architecture and its various arts
through researches contributing to the preservation and improvement of the Islamic
architectural
art.
Rector of Sana'a University Khalid Tamim said that holding this conference at
Sana'a University affirms keenness of the University and the FUIW on aspects of the
Islamic
architecture and arts to instill this culture in the coming generations.
For his part, Director General of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic
World (FUIW) Fathi al-Mulla pointed out that the conference aims at deepening the
creative
aspect of the Islamic civilization in the field of architecture and arts to reach an
educational curriculum illustrating this civil aspect for students to enrich thought
and project the Islamic entity for the nation's youth in order to create pride in
themselves of their lasting civilization.
