TATA

New Delhi, Jun 13 (PTI) Tatas on Sunday said that the
Sunday Telegraph of London has clarified the group's position
that it did not do carbon trading to pocket 1.2 billion pound
(over Rs 8,100 crore) through transfer of steel facility in
Britain to India at the cost of 1,700 jobs.
"The Tata group has noted the apology published by the
Sunday Telegraph. Over many decades the Tata group has ensured
our companies adhere to the highest ethical standards and we
take very seriously any attempt to damage our reputation," the
group said in a statement.
Sunday Times on the day said that it was wrong in reports
in December 2009 that Tata had used the carbon trading scheme
to transfer steel production from Redcar in England to India,
pocketing 1.2 billion pound in carbon credits at the cost of
1700 jobs. PTI RKL
