Yemen at academic accreditation and quality assurance workshop in France
SANA'A, June 14 (Saba) - Yemen is taking part in the academic
accreditation and quality assurance
workshop in the French city of Marseille being held on 14-16 June .
Higher Education Ministers and specialists in the Middle East and North
Africa are attending the workshop organized by World Bank.
Upon departure for the meeting, Minister of Higher Education and
Scientific Research Saleh BaSurrah, said the meeting will focus on the
higher education situation in the
Middle East and North Africa and means of improving it .
He said the World Bank will provide a grant worth $ 13 million for
Yemen to implement the second project of higher education development
that will be launched in mid-July.
The sum would be used to support programs of the governmental
universities and the national council for academic accreditation, he
said.
The bank supported the first project to improve higher education in the
country with $ 5 million.
