PM NAJIB CONGRATULATES KING ABDULLAH OF SAUDI ARABIA ON FIFTH ANNIVERSARY

KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak
Tuesday congratulated King Abdullah Abdul Aziz al Saud of Saudi Arabia on the
fifth anniversary of his reign.

Najib made a telephone call at 12.35am and spoke to the Saudi monarch for
about 12 minutes, said a spokesman for the prime minister.

"The prime minister also expressed confidence that Saudi Arabia will
continue to achieve great progress under King Abdullah's leadership," the
spokesman added.

Najib also thanked King Abdullah, who is also the Custodian of the Two Holy
Mosques, for the country's assistance in facilitating Malaysian pilgrims to
perform the haj and umrah.

Malaysia is the only country to which Saudi Arabia issues visas to perform
the umrah after the haj season.

The two leaders also touched on strengthening relations and expanding
economic ties, the spokesman said.
