BELLY DANCER ENTERTAINS MALAYSIAN CELEBRATING 105TH BIRTHDAY

MELBOURNE, June 15 (Bernama) -- A retired Malaysian Railways engineer
celebrated his 105th birthday here in exotic style with a belly dancing treat.

The Leader newspaper reported that William Herbert sat enthralled as belly
dancer Roxanne performed to traditional Middle Eastern music and wowed a hall
full of relatives and friends at the Manningham Aged Care Centre where Herbert
is a much-loved resident.

His son, Lance said it was an exciting way to celebrate an extraordinary
milestone.

Lance told Bernama that the aged care centre hired the belly dancer to
entertain his father.

Born on June 9, 1905, Herbert is a keen mathematician and till today has
an active mind which amazes his family and friends.

Lance, 72, who visits Aged Care Centre daily, said his father spoke four
languages and played instruments including the violin.

Herbert arrived in Melbourne in 1984.

His wife died in 1958 in Kuala Lumpur.
