GUINNESS ANCHOR EXPECTS 10-15 PCT INCREASE IN SALES DURING WORLD CUP

PETALING JAYA (Malaysia), June 16 (Bernama) -- Guinness Anchor Bhd (GAB)
expects sales to increase between 10 and 15 per cent during the ongoing FIFA
World Cup 2010 season.

Managing Director Charles Henry Ireland said the company's confidence was
based on the RM10 million (US$3 million) nationwide promotional programme it has
carried out.

GAB recorded an eight per cent growth in sales during the 2006 World Cup.

"This year's World Cup will be the icing on the cake when our already good
financial year ends on June 30. We are optimistic sales will be healthy with the
nationwide promotions and activities being held with our trade partners," he
told a press conference here Wednesday.

Listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia (Malaysia's stock exchange), GAB
garners a 57 per cent market share of the malt liquor market and nearly 70 per
cent of the industry's profit pool, eclipsing its nearest rival.

GAB's 'Celebrate Winning Football Moments' has 700 viewing parties all
across the country in GAB flagship outlets, pubs and coffee shops as well as
high definition live telecast of all the 64 World Cup matches via 2,000 units of
Astro B.Yond HD units.

"For our coffee shops promotion, we are having RM2 (US$0.60) off with
purchase of any two bottles of Tiger, Guinness or Heineken beer and RM4
(US$1.2)off and one Tiger mini football with purchase of any four bottles of
Tiger, Guinness or Heineken beer," he added.

Charles said in the last two months GAB's bottling line has been working at
100 per cent capacity to cater for increased demand from the market with
production volume up 15 per cent.

"This is to ensure there are no shortages during the World Cup viewing
parties across Malaysia. We see a chance to encourage Malaysian football fans to
come out during this period," he explained.

"Since the games began, our outlets have enjoyed good sales especially
during the opening parties in Penang and Klang Valley," Charles added.

To-date, Tiger holds the leading demand among GAB's products, namely
Guinness, Heineken, Anchor Smooth, Anchor Strong, Kilkenny, Anglia Shandy and
Malta.
