PM: Metrology is fundamental pillar in supporting national economy

SANA'A, June 16
(Saba) - Prime Minster Ali Mujawar said on Wednesday that metrology is a fundamental
pillar
in supporting the national economy.
In his speech during the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the establishment
of the Yemeni Standardization Metrology and Quality Control Organization, Mujawar
pointed
out that issuing standard specifications and applying high quality systems would
develop the productive efficiency of the national industrial facilities.
The premier affirmed that the standard specifications of the various productive
sectors in all countries of the world are one of the most important elements of
health, safety
and environment and a key factor for transferring and settling the technology and
the industrial development.
"Because of Yemen's efforts to join the WTO and Yemen' accession to the Gulf
Standardization Organization (GSO) earlier in this year, there will be big
responsibilities
before you in the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Yemeni organization", said
Mujawar.
He added that the Yemeni metrology organization should keep up with this trend and
steps through issuing the largest possible number of standard specifications to
cope
with the global developments in this field.
