MONGOLIA TO DEAL WITH COUNTERFEIT MEDICATIONS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A national strategy on combating counterfeit medications was approved at the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday.
Relevant Ministers were ordered to endorse activity plan on the strategy and its implementation, realize nationwide the works, and to tackle financial matters in frames of the packages of general managers of budget and foreign loans and assistance. They were also obliged to report implementation course to the Government every February.
For the time being, 34 state-owned and private pharmaceutical and medical equipment factories, 136 providers of medications and 1,026 pharmacies are working in Mongolia employing 1,503 pharmacists and 821 pharmacologists. Mongolia has registered 1,500 medications produced by 200 factories of some 30 countries, medicines raw materials produced by 41 factories of Russia, India and China, and 51 medicines produced by domestic entities.
