CALL FOR INVESTORS TO LOOK AT THAILAND`S INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES
KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 (Bernama) -- CIMB Private Banking is calling on
investors to take a closer look at the investment opportunities in Thailand.
It has invited Dr Porametee Vimolsiri, Deputy Secretary-General of the
National Economic and Social Development Board, to give an insight into
investment opportunities in Thailand's emerging markets.
Porametee will speak on "Thailand: Opportunities in the Face of
Uncertainty?" and touch on Thailand's economic outlook at the CIMB Private
Banking Investment Conference on July 7, 2010.
"Thailand's economy has completely bottomed out and there is a likelihood of
a high annual growth rate with a widespread expansion in certain key areas," he
said in a statement released by CIMB Wednesday.
Porametee will also highlight the effects of the political turmoil to the
real economy and stock market and the government's efforts in regaining investor
confidence.
For the first quarter of 2010, Thailand recorded a 12 per cent gross
domestic product (GDP) growth, which pointed to continued high economic
expansion for 2010, CIMB said.
