47 COUNTRIES PARTICIPATING IN IPC WORLD POWERLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIP 2010
KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- A total of 483 paralympic athletes from
47 countries will participate in the International Paralympic Council (IPC)
World Powerlifting Championship that Malaysia is hosting for the second time on
July 25-30.
Malaysian Powerlifting Association president Commander (R) Kamarulzaman
Kadir said this was double the number of participants in 2002.
"I believe 11 paralympic athletes from the country will participate in the
championship," he told Bernama here Thursday.
He called on the people to lend their support by turning up for the
championship to be held at a stadium here.
So far, Russia, Brazil, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Thailand, China
and Singapore have confirmed their participation.
