BOEING AND FAA TO TEAM UP FOR CLEANER SKIES, QUIETER AIRPLANES

KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 (Bernama) -- The Boeing Company and the US Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA) will work together to speed up the development and
application of environmentally progressive technologies for cleaner and quieter
jet aircraft.

Boeing and the FAA would each contribute up to US$25 million, during the
next five years, as part of the FAA's continuous lower energy, emissions and
noise (CLEEN) programme, Boeing said in a statement Friday.

The programme includes conducting flight demonstrations of emergent airframe
and engine technologies that have the potential to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions and community noise.
