The sources also said the interaction between Indian
and Pakistani investigators who probed the Mumbai attacks and
the exchange of notes on evidence gathered by the two sides
could figure in the upcoming meeting between Home Minister P
Chidambaram and his Pakistani counterpart Rehman Malik, the
sources said.
Some information on Pakistani-American national David
Headley's role in the Mumbai attacks has also been shared with
Pakistan, the sources said.
India's concerns about Pakistan-based militant leaders
like Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, fugitives
wanted by India, cross-border terrorism, infiltration and
other security-related issues figured in talks between the
Home Secretaries of the two sides but the sources said any
"major breakthroughs" or "grand gestures" were unlikely in the
near future.
Instead the two countries could make progress by
focussing on less complex and humanitarian issues like the
release of prisoners and fishermen, the sources said. PTI RHL
