“HEYDAR ALIYEV`S RETURN TO BAM�

Baku, 19 July,(AzerTAj)- The reconstructed station Angoy on the Baykal-Amur Terminal (BAM in Russian) was named after nationwide leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev.

A ceremony on this occasion was held on 18 July.
As stated, working as the First Vice-Chairman of the Soviet of Ministers of the
USSR, the great leader was the head of the Commission which carried out the control
over construction of the Baikal-Amur Highway. In this connection, during the trip to
Siberia, he has taken part in ceremony of foundation of the Angoy station.
Journalist Yevgeny Bogachev, who accompanied members of the Commission during this
trip, has shared his memoirs. The article was placed on the Russian Railways
website.
The author informs that this section of the Baykal-Amur Terminal was mainly built by
Azerbaijani representatives. He also reminds the Azerbaijani Diaspora now living in
the area.
