IBC SOLAR INSTALLATIONS TOUCH ENERGY THROUGHPUT OF ONE GIGAWATT






KUALA LUMPUR, June 28, (Bernama) -- German-based solar energy system
integrators, IBC Solar, has scored a major breakthrough when its installations
worldwide crossed the combined energy throughput of one gigawatt.

In a statement here Monday, the company said it had reached the 100,000-mark
in solar installations worldwide in successful partnerships with national and
internationally specialist partners as well as its core business ventures.

Chief executive officer of IBC Solar Teknik Sdn Bhd, Ahmad Nazri Ibrahim,
said the technology from Germany allowed it to create mini grids in remote areas
where there was no need to rely on the national grid.

"With the installed capacity of one gigawatt, the emission of some 500,000
tonnes of carbon emission per year can be avoided.

"Thus, it has proven to protect the environment and help lessen the
dependency on conventional power plants to reduce pollution," he said.

He said the system also created jobs for the folks in rural areas and
provided revenue for the government by way of cottage industries and other
activities which could be conducted if there was readily-available source of
reliable energy.
