PREMIER RECEIVES S.KOREAN MINISTER OF GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold received Wednesday a delegation headed by Mr. Lee Seog Yeon, the Minister of Government Legislation of the Republic of Korea.
Beginning the meeting, the Premier emphasized that Mr. Lee is visiting Mongolia in the year of the 20th anniversary of the Mongolia-Korea diplomatic relations, and expressed a satisfaction with the relations and cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
He said Mongolia may study S.Korea's experiences in order to create a legal environment based on developmental policy and to share experiences in controlling over implementation of responsibilities for civil society and human rights protection and to seek a mechanism of propagandizing legislation to the public. "Big successes have emerged in the political, economic sectors and all social spheres between our countries. Developing the ties between people of the two countries has a significant role in developing these relations," Mr. Batbold underlined. He expressed a hope that the sides will cooperate in easing the visa regime, protecting interests of some 30 thousand Mongolian who live in South Korea and their legal status, refining upon the legal environment for employment.
In response, Mr. Lee mentioned that the Mongolia-Korea relations and cooperation, including the ties between people of the countries, have been expanding and noted that the countries should get real achievements from the bilateral relations. He said he is ready to support the Premier's proposal on protecting rights of the Mongolians in S.Korea and requested the Mongolian side to collaborate with S.Korea in supporting activities of the Koreans residing here.
The Korean Minister said the legislative development and reform have significantly contributed to his country's economic development, and expressed a willingness to share an experience with Mongolia in forming a legal environment that supports the development.
S.Korea's side also wants to cooperate with Mongolia's Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs, exchange specialists and experiences, realize some educational programs through establishing ties with Mongolian law universities and institutes.
The Prime Minister said he supports Mr. Lee's initiatives, and that he is confident that the bilateral effective cooperation will widen.
