MONGOLIA-BULGARIA INTER-GOVERNMENTAL MEETING HELD
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The 5th Mongolia-Bulgaria inter-governmental meeting on commercial, economic, scientific and technical cooperation ran June 30-July 1 in Ulaanbaatar co-chaired by S.Lambaa, the Health Minister of Mongolia and head of the inter-governmental commission for the Mongolian side, and by Mr. Ivo Marinov, the Vice Minister of Economics, Energy and Tourism and head of Bulgaria's side.
S.Lambaa noted that the countries have reached some results in implementing decisions which were at previous meetings of the commission. "A goal to increase the bilateral trade turnover, put by the previous meeting, has been fulfilled. Matters reflected in the protocol of the 4th inter-governmental meeting have almost been realized," he stressed.
Mr. Lambaa emphasized an importance of collaboration between Mongolian and Bulgarian businessmen in expanding the bilateral economic cooperation, and underlined the countries should render them assistance and support.
The sides discussed issues of cooperating in the sectors of food, agriculture, geology, mining, energy and tourism, of developing small- and middle-sized production, introducing industrial technologies, promoting investments, preparing specialists and studying experiences.
The countries exchanged views on opportunities to develop the cooperation in augmenting the size of trade in frames of the two sides and the European Union (EU), and further measures. The sides also talked about ways of developing the collaboration in view of the EU decision to introduce the European standards to Mongolia.
At the end of the meeting, a cooperation memorandum was established between Mongolia's Department of Small- and Middle-sized Production and the same organization of Bulgaria. A protocol of the inter-governmental meeting was issued as well.
