CABINET BACKS DRAFT NEW WORDING OF LAW ON HEALTH INSURANCE
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The cabinet meeting held Wednesday discussed and backed in principle a draft new wording of the law on health insurance of citizens. It will be submitted to the State Great Khural with proposals of the cabinet.
In accordance with the new wording of the law, the insurance will finance medical examinations for out-patients and services for people on other medical examinations, diagnosis, day treatment, traditional and rehabilitation medical assistance and sanatoria services. Costs of expensive medical aid and service for citizens will be financed by the insurance as well.
The law will regulate relations of amassing deduction of health insurance and approving the budget of health insurance fund. In addition to it, the insurance organization will have obligations to control over purchase of medical aid and service and their quality, to strengthen information system of health insurance and to improve information for insurants in respect of the law.
In connection with having the health insurance organization become independent, the new wording of the law reflects rights and duties of the health insurance inspectors and sanctions against the breakers of the law.
A draft package law on social welfare, which has been submitted to parliament, says that the state will defray costs of health insurance deductions for members of poor families who need social support and assistance. Thus, the health insurance deduction for children except of the above the poor families' members will be defrayed by their parents in accordance with the new wording of the law.
