CONFERENCE TO DISCUSS PROSPECTS IN SOUTHEAST ASIA




KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) -- Southeast Asia with its strong economic
fundamentals and resiliency amid the global financial crisis offers fresh
investment opportunities, according to CIMB Private Banking.

Investment strategies and country-specific potential will be discussed at
the CIMB Private Banking Investment Conference which will be held here on July
7, 2010.

Themed "Southeast Asia in Focus -- 2010 and Beyond", the conference is
designed to help investors gain insights on the underlying factors that
contribute to Southeast Asia being a more vibrant and exciting market.

"The conference is timely as it will provide insights into the prospects of
Southeast Asia, which has emerged stronger compared to Europe and the United
States," said Carolyn Leng, head of CIMB Private Banking Malaysia, in a
statement Friday.

"The recent global crisis saw changes in the economic and financial
landscape. To guide investors through these changes, we have invited experts
from various backgrounds to present their findings on Southeast Asia's
fundamentals and growth potential from different perspectives to enable
investors to make well-informed decisions in moving forward with their
investments," she said.

Among the speakers are famed American investor and market commentator Jim
Rogers, Thailand's National Economic and Social Development Board deputy
secretary-general Dr Porametee Vimolsiri, RCM Asia Pacific managing director and
senior portfolio manager Stuart Winchester and KRA Group chief executive
officer, regional analyst and columnist Karim Raslan.
