INDONESIAN WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO BABY DUMPING

SEREMBAN (Malaysia), July 2 (Bernama) -- An Indonesian woman pleaded guilty
in the Magistrate's Court here to a charge of dumping her newborn baby at Taman
Sri Pulai 3 here on Tuesday.

Magistrate Marsilawati Mohamad Shah allowed the woman, Rusmiyah, 22, a bail
of RM3,800 (US$1,177) in one surety and set Sept 8 for the sentencing.

Rusmiyah, who is unrepresented, was charged with dumping the baby on the lid
of a garbage bin of a terrace house in Jalan Sri Pulai 46/3, Taman Sri Pulai 3.

Chief Insp Idora Omar prosecuted.

Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan Welfare Department director Mizan Maulud said the
baby boy was still at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital and would later be placed
temporarily at the Tengku Budriah Children Home in Cheras.
