TNT INCREASES AIR FREIGHT CAPACITY BETWEEN CHINA AND EUROPE
KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 (Bernama) -- TNT is scheduling an additional Boeing 747-400 ERF aircraft to increase its air freight capacity between China and Europe.
In a statement, TNT said its service frequency would be increased to six
flights per week from Shanghai and five flights per week from Hong Kong.
"This is in response to the stronger demand in China for our air services,
especially from the high-technology and fashion industries," it said.
Managing director of TNT China, Iman Stratenus, said the company has seen a
significant increase in demand for freight services between the regions.
"Our current freighters between China and Europe are operating at full
capacity," he said.
He said the increased capacity would ensure that the customers, especially
those in the high-tech and fashion/life-style sectors, would become more
competitive due to shorter factory-to-market lead times.
