Pakistan, India to begin new round of dialogue on July 21
Islamabad, July 21 PPI: Pakistan and India will hold next round of high level dialogue on July 21 to discuss issues ranging from long-standing Kashmir dispute to trade promotion.
Both countries have held four rounds of Composite Dialogue process started in 2004 and fifth will be held in New Delhi on Monday.
"The fifth round of Pakistan-India Composite Dialogue would be launched on 21 July 2008 in New Delhi with Foreign Secretary-level talks on the segments of peace and security including CBMs and Jammu and Kashmir" a statement said.
Pakistan delegation will be headed by Salman Bashir, Foreign Secretary while hisIndian counterpart Shiv Shankar Menon lead his country's team.
During talks, both sides will look into prospects of a just and peaceful resolutionof Jammu and Kashmir dispute, statement said.
The talks will also focus on issues of peace and security. The implementation of various conventional, nuclear and cross- Line of Control (LoC in disputed Kashmir) confidence building measures will be reviewed and possible new CBMs will bediscussed.
The visit will also provide an opportunity for two foreign secretaries to discussother areas of bilateral cooperation, statement added.
