M'SIA ON TRACK TO ACHIEVE SIX PCT GROWTH THIS YEAR,SAYS NOR MOHAMED
PETALING JAYA (Malaysia), July 8 (Bernama) -- Malaysia is on track to
achieve the six per cent growth target this year, in line with improved economic
conditions in Asia, says Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nor Mohamed
Yakcop.
"The growth in China, India, Vietnam and Indonesia is good and getting
better and we are on target to achieve a six per cent growth," he told reporters
after officiating the MPH Power-Packed Seminar on Investment Opportunities For
2010 and Beyond For Asian Companies and Investors, by Jim Rogers here Thursday.
On Budget 2011, Nor Mohamed said Prime Minister Najib Razak will table it in
Parliament on Oct 15.
At present, input is being sought from various stakeholders.
On Tuesday, Najib, who also Finance Minister said the Budget 2011 will set
the pace in transforming Malaysia into a developed and high-income economy by
2020.
He said it would be achieved through the four pillars of the national
transformation agenda of the 1Malaysia concept, the Government Transformation
Programme (GTP), the New Economic Model (NEM) and the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP).
