BDR,BSF border conference begins at Calcutta on July 21
DHAKA, Bangladesh, July 21(BSS)- A border conference of Bangladesh Rifles(BDR) and Indian Border Security Force(BSF) begins at Calcutta of West Bengal tomorrow to discuss the recent killing incidents of BDR members and unarmed Bangladeshi people by theIndian border security forces(BSF).
A 12-member team of BDR led by its Deputy Director General Brigadier General MA Bari, NDC, PSC will take part in the conference while the Indian side will be led by AIG, NorthBengal frontier of BSF AS C V Murlidhar, a BDR press release said here today.
The BDR team will include sector commanders of Rajshahi, Khulna,Dinajpur, Kushtia, Rangpur and concerned officials of the headquarters, a BDR press release said here today.
The BDR agenda for the conference includes: killing of BDR members by BSF, attack on unarmed Bangladeshi citizens by the BSF and Indian citizens, frequent violation of border rules by BSF and Indian citizens, illegal crossing and infiltration intoBangladesh.
The BDR agenda also includes: resistance of smuggling with drugs from India into Bangladesh, frequent arrest of Bangladeshicitizens by BSF etc.
The BSF agenda at the conference includes: intra-border crimes committed by Bangladeshi citizens crossing the frontier into the Indian territory, lifting of cattle, abduction, uprooting of tree plantations and shifting, violation of barbed wire fencing, movement of illegal migrants into India, attack on BSF and Indian citizens by Bangladeshi miscreants and other provocative actions, cultivation on Indian lands, illegal grazing of cattle, smuggling of fake Indian currencies, support to Indianterrorists by Bangladeshi citizens etc.
The other issues to be discussed in the boarder conference are: digging of earth within 150 yards of the zero line by the Indian authorities and repair of proposed roads withoutpermission of BDR etc, the press release added.
