DOW OPENS MICROBIAL CONTROL ACADEMY IN SINGAPORE

SINGAPORE, July 9 (Bernama) -- The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) Friday
launched an academy that will give its customers better access to global
technical expertise and research and development (R&D) tools.

Catering to its customers in the Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand
region, the Dow Microbial Control Academy here is a multi-purpose educational
institution focused on the transmission, expansion and application of microbial
control knowledge.

Vipul Shah, president for South East Asia & India/Pakistan of Dow along with
Mark Henning, Dow Microbial Control global general manager, were on-site to mark
the occasion and share information on R&D with more than 90 customers from a
spectrum of industries including paints and coatings, plastics and chemicals.

A seminar on new concepts in microbial control, highlighting Dow Microbial
Control's focus on responsible innovation was conducted at the academy today.

This was the academy's inaugural training course and all the customers were
awarded with the academy certificate cup.

Henning said: "The central mission of the Academy is to teach, lead and
research microbial control science and technology for the betterment of
customers, markets and applications worldwide."
