DURIAN FEST AND FUTSAL TO USHER THE WORLD CUP FINAL AT MERDEKA SQUARE
KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- A Durian Fest and Futsal competition will
be held to usher the live telecast of the World Cup 2010 football final and the
match for third placing at the Merdeka Square this weekend.
From Saturday until Monday, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will organise
various interesting programmes for the KUL VIEW 2010.
The five-a-side boy's Under-15 futsal will be held Saturday and on Sunday
from 8am until 6pm, according to a statement from the DBKL Friday.
Meanwhile, the women's open competition is scheduled for 9.30pm on Sunday.
For the third placing match between Uruguay and Germany which will start at
2.30am on Sunday, football fans will be entertained prior to the game by
artistes such as Yazer, Nadia, Radhi OAG, Candy, Amelia, and Jack Zol, as well
as the DBKL musical combo and brassband, cheering teams and cultural dances
beginning 9pm.
The Durian Fest from the best clones and local fruits would be served
from
5pm Saturday until the conclusion of the match at a fee of RM15 (US$4.69)
(US$1=RM3.19) per person.
The climax of the programme will be the final match between Spain and
Holland on early Monday morning.
Mayor Ahmad Fuad Ismail will pick winners for the lucky draw at
3.15am with the main prize being a Naza Kia Picanto car.
Members of the public can fill the special registration form for the lucky
draw at the Naza Kia display tent at Merdeka Square before the closing on
Sunday.
