OFFICIALS, OBLIGATIONS AND WINTER PREPARATION
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ As we informed before, the cabinet meeting held July 7 discussed the winter preparation issues and gave obligations to related Ministers, the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city and aimags' governors. All these works were discussed again at the cabinet meeting July 14 to ensure the winter preparation, and a resolution was issued.
In accordance with it, works will be done in the sectors of agriculture, road, transportation, construction, apartments and public services.
In the agricultural sector:
Its Minister, the city's Mayor and provinces' governors have been obliged to set up hay and fodder reserves by processing a relief barley sent from Russia, to implement projects and programs on providing herders with livestock and giving opportunities to them to get jobs in other sectors and on strengthening the capacity of disaster risks, to urgently fix levels of droughts, make artificial rains and to organize transhumance under unified regulations.
The Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry T.Badamjunai was ordered to widely propagandize policy documents and the "Mongolian livestock" national program, to make the winter preparation plan and tackle its implementation together with the related Ministries, departments, authorities of aimags and administrative organizations, and to organize artificial insemination at orders of aimags and soums.
The Agricultural Minister also took obligations to improve provision of agricultural facilities, create conditions of encouraging foremost producers and haymakers, and advertise their experiences and works, and to organize an advertisement by professional organizations, scholars and specialists on preparing fodder with straw of wheat, stalks of vegetables and leaves.
The city's Mayor and governors of aimags were ordered to make a plan of ensuring the winter preparation in the city and aimags and to build up a safety reserve with relief hay and fodder from Russia, to run amobng livestock prevention washing and injection, to control over sterilization and disinfection in fences and winter quarters of livestock, to complete the repair of facilities of preparing the hay and fodder within July 20, to process meat by production methods in order to increase meat supply in the city and aimags, and to set up a medical aid and medicines reserve to organize related service for herders who are in severe conditions.
T.Badamjunai was ordered control over the resolution's implementation. He will submit the implementation course of the resolution to the cabinet meeting late August and introduce the results of the winter preparation to the cabinet meeting in November 2010.
